Job Role:                   Outdoor Lunchtime Play Leader

Contract Type:          Part time, permanent  

Salary:                        SLP Grade 1 – £11.79 per hour which equates to £4,154 pa actual salary

Working Pattern:      Monday–Friday – 7½ hours per week – term time only, plus 5 PD days

Collierley Nursery and Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed person to supervise children during the lunchtime period, to start as soon as possible.

Duties include:

  • Leading play outdoors 100% of time maintaining general cleanliness of the play areas and grounds.
  • Working as part of the play team to maintain and develop the play offer for the children.
  • Use the restorative approach to resolve conflict, communicating effectively with pupils.
  • Maintaining good behaviour according to the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Performing basic first aid to pupils and recording of such.

Applicants should ideally have experience of working with primary school age children; be flexible and willing to undertake training and development, commensurate with the role, as required.  This includes annual training in safeguarding.  You should be able to work effectively as a team member and have good interpersonal skills to be able to respond to pupils in a polite and helpful manner.

As this role is for covering lunchtimes – it is ideally suited to someone who lives locally.
