Attendance Officer – Annfield Plain

Attendance Officer: Part Time 20 hpw across 5 mornings

£13,317 – £14,260 pa (actual salary) reflects working term time only

Ideally, to start as soon as possible, the Trust is looking to appoint a flexible and enthusiastic Attendance Officer to work between Annfield Plain Infant School and Annfield Plain Junior School, two village school which sit at the heart of their community.

As ‘Good’ Ofsted rated schools, located some 3 minutes’ walk away from each other – they work effectively in partnership and pride themselves in their friendly, nurturing, and supportive atmosphere where children and staff are encouraged to reach their full potential. This role is crucial in helping to continue their positive journey.

The primary focus of this role is to have a positive impact on increasing pupil attendance. We therefore require someone with excellent people skills, coupled with a calm but firm manner, to enable effective relationships to be forged with our children and their families, collaborating with them in school and off- site.

The successful candidate should be self-motivated and well organised; able to work under pressure and have a high level of personal drive to identify and break down any barriers impacting pupil attendance. A willingness and desire to help raise aspirations, despite sometimes challenging behaviour and a lack of engagement is also essential.

You will record, monitor, and report on whole-school attendance, analysing data to identify key areas of concern in a timely fashion and act appropriately when persistent absence becomes a safeguarding issue.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills, alongside a competency in ICT. Experience of using SIMS is desirable, however full training will be provided.

For more information about the role, please contact either school directly on 01207 234691 for Annfield Plain Infant School or 01207 234531 for Annfield Plain Junior School
